Wine & Food Affair 2013 Video
Photographer extraordinaire, Ken Sipes, dropped by the Mueller Tasting Room during the recent Wine & Food Affair. Ken was kind enough to put together a short video highlighting the Mueller family happenings. Thanks Ken! Click here to view the video.
Wine & Food Affair 2013 was a big hit…..just ask “Two Guys from Napa”
These “Two Guys” have made it their personal mission to visit over 650 tasting rooms around the world. Their goal is to make planning your next trip to the wine country, whichever one that is, easier. If they recommend a place, it’s because they’ve been there themselves and can personally recommend the experience. We were delighted to host their visit to the new Mueller Tasting Room in Healdsburg, during the recent Wine & Food Affair. These “Two Guys” are fun to meet and they have written a very informative and detailed summary of the event, including some of their favorites. Prince of Pinot reviews 2011 Mueller Wines
A passion for pinot has driven the “Prince of Pinot” (Rusty Gaffney) to a full time quest in search of the great pinots of the world. When he retired in 2001, Rusty decided to devote his energies to writing the PinotFile, an online newsletter that was the first wine publication exclusively devoted to Pinot Noir. Recently the Prince enjoyed tasting our new 2011 Pinot Noir releases. Please check out his reviews. Sounds like a good time was had by all….click here to read the latest volume of the PinotFile.
Wine Spectator 2011 Pinot Reviews
Hot off the Press! New reviews from the current issue of the Wine Spectator. Terrific scores for a very challenging harvest. The 2011 harvest was known as the “Harvest of Long Faces” within the local wine industry due to the extreme weather conditions. Bob was still able to produce 90+ point wines. Way to go Bob! These wines are available to purchase directly from our tasting room and will ship October 1st. Call (707)473-8086.

Named for their loyal and beloved black Labrador retriever, Hogan, this 6-acre, hillside, Russian River Valley vineyard has an optimal south-facing orientation in the perfect terroir for producing ultra-premium wine grapes. Susie & Fred Sedlacek migrated North from the San Francisco peninsula in 2010 and found themselves settling close to a favorite winery and winemaker. . . .Mueller. What more could they dream of than growing the perfect grapes for Robert?
The first harvest under their care was grown and made into a Mueller 2011 vintage with vineyard designation! Susie & Fred provided Robert with first pick of the vineyard orientation, rows and clones to work his magic. Robert uses the western-most rows of the vineyard consisting of clone 667 on the highest slope. Since purchasing the vineyard, Susie & Fred have insisted on high-touch vineyard management practices and have thinned vines to reduce crop yield as they continue to pursue the highest quality, providing only the best fruit to produce this heavenly portion.
Our first vintage of “Hogan’s Run”, and we couldn’t be more pleased! From its full, cherry red color to the deep black cherry and blackberry aromas, this wine is a winner; very rich and full bodied, yet velvety soft on the palate. Top that with spicy, toasted French oak and a lengthy finish, and you have a delicious wine easily matched with almost any dish.
